Operation Inasmuch

August 6, 2011

On Friday, August 5, members of the OIAM work teams gathered at West End for a covered dish supper and fellowship followed by a period of study and prayer in preparation for our workday.  On Saturday, teams went to work.

o        A construction team built a wheelchair ramp.

o        A sewing team made carry bags for children at Elephant’s Fork Elementary School.

o        A Laundromat aid team fed quarters into washers and dryers as they engaged as Christian witnesses.

o        A yard work team focused on members of the community needing some assistance with mowing and trimming.

o        A trash pickup team cleaned trash from several local playgrounds.

o        A hygiene kit team assembled kits that will be used by the Western Tidewater Free Clinic.

o        A yard sale team served the community by offering household essentials and clothing for sale at 25 cents per item.  The proceeds of the yard sale will fund OIAM projects.

o        In the days leading up to OAIM and throughout the day of service, a prayer team prayed for the volunteers and those they served.
