From where I sit....

                                           June 2010

…While in Austin, TX after Easter, as I was browsing in a local book store a refrigerator magnet caught my eye. It said: “It’ll all be okay in the end. If it’s not all okay, it’s not the end!” Wow, what a great post-Easter message! As bad as things may be, the end hasn’t come yet. That message stuck with me and was reaffirmed recently, when I read about the life of Frederick Buechner, an American writer and theologian. His life’s story took him to seminary in his late 20’s where he encountered God in the stories of scripture. Out of that encounter with “the world beyond the worlds” came a new faith, and that faith was rooted in a God for whom “the worst things were never the last things.” That’s the God I believe in as well, and that’s the God we see in Jesus. May we claim that post-Easter hope for the living of our days! (TFI)
